Forgotten Websites

Yesterday i found out a website i created in 1999. I had to request to take it down as i no longer had access to it. It kind of feels like an end of an era. The websites were so simple and showed the mind of a 16 year old kid. Like a Ghost of my past to delight but also kind of haunt me.

It makes me think about being forgotten that if I were a few years younger would not be possible there would be too many interests wanting to keep my cringey expression. I was lucky the website was not archived and after posting the site in that year. I matured enough to know better and didn't post anything online with unfiltered emotion after that.

Now do i think the internet will really allow you to be forgotten not a chance it's built into the design. With Web2.0 the control of the first copy of your data is not even in your control anymore.

The Answer should be education and decentralization to take the money out of our data. Its why i checked out of the Web and only want to express myself in Gemini.
