Object Pascal while has vintage roots, is still quite a modern and amazing language. There has
been an argument and myth that has been repeated to death about how Pascal is just a teaching language.
While it's roots and original purpose was to teach how to program, Object Pascal is far from it. Not
sure what I mean? Photoshop was originally made in Think Pascal for Macintosh and Skype was originally
created in Delphi. Both have moved their code base to other languages for different resasons, but it
does show that language is capable.
The other arguments is that there isn't a standard or that the standard it does have is old and outdated.
This is true, but while there isn't an official standard, FreePascal and Delphi are extremely similar and
able to move between each other quite easily.
The biggest reason I could give is a single exexcutable file for the user to run. There are no frameworks
or virtual machine instances that have to be installed and run, it just works.
