A week or two ago the tilt latches on my sliding window broke. They basically keep the window up right, and when you want to tilt it back (for cleaning usually), you push the slide in and the window tilts. However, when these fail, the window becomes very fragile and can tilt at any moment, and a violent sudden tilt can cause damage to your window frame or the window itself. So I measured my broken tilt latches, and order some new ones off Amazon. Today they came in, and don't work. They have these small little nubs on the side that prevent them from fully sliding in. Amazon reviews say you have to dremel these off, a tool I sadly don't have. Just what I get for using Amazon, I guess. Going to order another pair from an actual window repair website.
As we speak, I'm finally imaging my server and migrating to Vultr. Actually, it's uploading to Vultr as I type this. I wanted this done a few days ago, but Digital Ocean was having a problem with adding block storage in the SF02 region, where my server was located. I checked their status pages when I got the error, and they said everything was A-OK in SF02. I then emailed them about the error, to which the support person replied with that it should be fine in my region, but they bumped my case up to engineering to take a look at. Engineering seemed to be out for the weekend, so they finally emailed me back today saying
"Our engineers have added you to the limited list of users who can create block storage volume in sf02.
Kindly confirm you can now create in that region."
and that was that. I wonder why theres a "limited list of users" who can create block storage volumes in SF02. I guess we'll never know.
Mi tawa.
