Hey, I'm nomadpenguin! I'm a lapsed programmer, aspiring brain scientist, theory enthusiast, and music tinkerer. My pronouns are he/him.
Welcome to my little antilibrary. What's an antilibrary? One of my favorite authors, Umberto Eco, made the case that one should own more unread books than read books. Unread books are more valuable than read ones, and in fact, as you grow older and become more knowledgable, you should own more unread books. So, here is a space where I'll be wildly speculating and gesticulating, talking about things I don't quite understand but still enjoy turning over in my hands.
I've been sporadically writing essays on my HTTP blog, but since those are more obviously linked to my professional profile, it's been difficult to put out content consistently. Here I'll be posting unpolished (and perhaps inane) texts.
I'm new to geminispace, but I'm liking it a lot here. It's very cozy and it feels like a safe place to put out minor work.
