Sometimes I work on stuff.
This was a project to port a broader selection of open-source software to Stratus's OpenVOS operating system. Pkgsrc was successfully bootstrapped on VOS in early 2015. I really enjoyed working on the VOS system.
Pkgsrc running on VOS. Forgive the terminal font issues.
Lotus is the codename of a virtual pet product to be announced in August of 2022. It uses an ESP32-C3 and a Sharp Memory LCD. I'm responsible for the board design and built the breadboard prototype. I also wrote the low-level layers of its software stack, a multi-server environment consisting of DisplayKit, UiKit,NetKit, InputKit, and AppKit, running on top of FreeRTOS. Servers communicate with each other exclusively via queues.
Itanium user-mode simulator written in C and Ada. Goal is eventual HP-UX binary compatibility. I'm targeting IPF Linux right now because syscall passthrough is considerably easier from little-endian Linux to little-endian Linux. Mostly stalled, after a burst of initial progress, since August 2021. Life happened.
Gopher server in Ruby (ported from an earlier version in Julia.) Eventually going to add Gemini support. This host is running Liminal/R for Gopher, but not for Gemini.
Persistent-memory object-oriented embedded computer. I can't really talk about it, but it's beyond cool.
