Introduction:
After such a great gfile header, I think you deserve an explanation. The
sword box is just essentially a bud/beige/day-glo box with enhancements and
modifications. The structural differences in the sword box make it better
however, and thus safer for you to use. As always, read through the file
once before starting.

Equipment needed for construction of Sword Box
______________________________________________________________________________

1 7x3x4 box [experimenters, or project] made of plastic
2 insulated large alligator clips [might need backups]
2 reels of different colored wire
1 3 or 4 volt lightbulb, smaller voltage [1-1.5] will also be fine
A strong power drill [Sears or something] with a small [5/64] bit
Rubber based electric tape
1 common phone plug interface [plug, modulator, etc.] preferably wall-based

______________________________________________________________________________

STEP 1.
Okay, this is the first part. Make sure you are familiar with BELL tech.
phone voltage, connecting, tones, etc. so that you won't stumble and mess up.
First take the box, cut off the bottom, or open it up. Now drill two holes
on one of the ends, like this:

                               Top
                       -----------------------
                       - -
                       - o o -
                       - -
                       _______________________
                               Bottom

Thread about eight inches of wire through the holes, so that four inches
are on the outside, and four are inside. Solder the alligator clips onto
the ends of the outside part of the wire.

STEP 2.
Take the phone interface, and set it aside. Drill two holes close to each
other into the top of the box [top right corner] where the alligator clips
are facing you. Glue or tape the light bulb between these two points. Now
thread one wire through a hole and connect to the POSITIVE part of the light
bulb. Thread another wire throught the other hole and connect it to the
NEGATIVE part of the light bulb. The other part of the wires should be inside
the box [gone through the hole].

STEP 3.
Take the drill and drill two holes RIGHT next to each other in the middle
of the top of the box. Take the phone interface and snip off the black and
yellow wires [not needed]. Thread the remaining two wires into the holes
you just drilled, with red on the left, and green on the right. Glue
or tape the interface to the box. The two wires should be going inside
the box.

STEP 4.
Here comes the tricky part. Flip the box over and look inside. There should
be six wires coming from outside through holes. Now connect the red wire
from the phone interface to the red wire that has the alligator clip on it.
Wire the green phone interface wire to the green wire with the alligator clip
on it.
To the connection of the two red wires, connect the wire from the light bulb
that is bound to the positive side of the bulb.
To the connection of the two green wires, connect the wire that touches the
negative part of the bulb.

Now look over all the connections and electric tape them. Make sure it's
secure. At last, close or fix the bottom of the box back on.

Usage:

Use as a normal bud/beige/day-glo box. When the phone connects, the light
bulb will light up [of course]. In place of the light bulb, you could later
install a tone generator to cycle a 2600 Hz tone or something. Do what you
want.

Happy Boxing!
