I'm still waiting on the 3D printing revolution to put lightbulb factories out of business, and other products with planned obsolescence

So like, with 3D printing, for example, even as it gets better in terms of what you can make with it, there's some question in my mind as to how much cheaper it'll get. You also have to have at least a little bit of tech savvy to make or get designs that you then print. Sure, printer companies could make that somewhat easier, but then you're going to end up with walled gardens that only allow you to build what they have decided you can build (sort of like smart phones now).
