Hi Falks,
Here's a bunch of update on what I've been up to recently.
- First, I finally got my pushbike, been a long wait as it's pretty much mission impossible to get a XL frame these days from any manufacturer. They were 6 frames for Europe and took over a year to get one to France. Nothing fancy, very basic city bike...but that's the beauty of the world we're living in...looks like everybody consider this normal now. Plus the price increased, the bike is now +120 EUR more expensive, same specs...
- Second I've finally completely removed gapps from my phone. Reinstalled lineage with no gapps at all, and only got what I needed from F-Droid. This got me to discover a few new app like Manyverse and Briar that I would like to play a bit more with.
- I've also added over 10K zip files to this capsule, those are old french magazines scan. So if you have time and look for some cool reading you should definitively check it out. [1]
- I've changed my habbits in regards to dark theme. Default one is now a Light one all day long. Only the terminal remains my usual nord dark on mac and solarized dark on openbsd.
It works better for me these days for some reason. Maybe cause there's more sun light in my office. It almost feels like I don't push on my eyes as much with a light theme. Especially as despite still running on 4K monitors, I've increased scaling so everything is a little bigger.
- I've got a bunch of project in my mind. I am considering hosting more services at home some for my personal and family use, then open to everyone. I got a few idea to make this slightly different that the usual Chatons offers. Also I am thinking of offering to burn bluray disk for people to have an offsite backup and store them for 10 years. I've asking some feedback on Mastodon, let's see what people think.[2]
- I need to find time to plan something for summer. I miss stand-up paddle and I would like sailing too - but got some much to do that I am unlikely to have enough free time. But I really need a summer break and some decent time off. Work been a pain in the back for quite some time now.
- Another French recommendation if you're looking for something to read would be "Hacker Protester" [3] - it's really good! Fantastic tips and brilliant interviews.
