My notes about plurality

I discovered plurality after someone told explained me "agere" and "petre" (age regression and pet regression) and PluralKit.

Vocabulary related to plurals

A system or a collective is the plural group that resides within a single brain.
Fronting is when an individual controls the collective's shared body (the front)
Headspace is an internal landscape shared by a collective. It's often where people are when they're not in front.
Singlet is someone that isn't plural
Switching is when collective members exchange control over the front
A headmate is an individual in a collective.

The causes of plurality are not fully known and likely can have several causes.

Some say it can come from childhood trauma, others spiritual, etc.

However, they all share the common thread of being more than one.

Plurality isn't ultra-rare, about the same scope as autism or OCD. You likely encountered someone plurial without knowing it.
Plurality isn't dangerous. I think that's pretty obvious there is nothing that could back up such a claim.
Plurality isn't good or bad.

There are many ways to live as plural and many dimensions to it.

They can consider themselves one identity with many facets, or several identities among the same body, etc.
Communication is crutial, they can communicate with one another by thinking to say at each other (like internal telepathy). Some collectives leave themselves notes for instance.
Headspace can be internal worlds, varying from a simple room to an actual world. Others don't have internal worlds at all and instead may fall asleep when not in front.
Collective also varry in amount of switching.
There are many ways in which collective govern themselves. Some can be informal and others can be more formal.

Do not ask if they are dangerous
Do not ask to see the "real person", they are all real
Don't assume everyone in a system has the same opinions
Do not out a collective without their permission
Do not push them into therapy or medication
Do not pry into their trauma history
They prefer when refering to individuals in a collective with their own names and pronouns
Respect their privacy and self-determination
