I'm tired of the bloated web and want something more minimal; something that can be controlled by the user. Self-hosting my own web page, blog, and email server ideally at home on hardware the user controls. Breaking reliance on trusted third parties who exist to vacuum as much sensitive personal data as they can. Time to veer off the current web's heading, beginning with gemini.
Why do I like gemini? It's minimalistic, much like Bitcoin, which means it's accessible by a wide range of devices. An ESP32 device can retreive a gemini pod. The stripped down nature of gemtext means writing web pages is simple and bloat-free.
