Intuitions I had the other day, which I would have trouble elaborating on: the static screens of adventure games, with their often strange, dreamlike, symbolic nature, are reminiscent of some sort of "cards"; the blades of an unknown Tarot.
The often strange, sometimes absurd, always convoluted and counter-intuitive puzzles of adventure games seem to me comparable to esoteric enigmas, necessarily convoluted and counter-intuitive, because they are reserved for a small elite capable of answering. Or let's say that one could imagine an adventure game whose puzzles would in fact be enigmas that only 'initiated' people are capable of answering, with increasing difficulty; the end of the game coinciding with the end of the initiatory journey.
