A Ryanair flight departed for the first time from Cork Airport to the Spanish city of Valencia today, Thursday.
Valencia is Cork Airport's newest destination.
The Spanish city is a well-known holiday spot for both city breaks and beach getaways.
Flights with Ryanair from Cork to Valencia will operate twice a week, on Thursdays and Sundays, with flights starting at €45.
The flight to Valencia takes 2 and half hours from Cork Airport.
Roy O’Driscoll, Acting Managing Director at Cork Airport, said “This week, Ryanair will commence three new routes – including a new, twice-weekly service to Valencia, Spain.
"From now until the end of October, you can fly direct from Ireland’s second-largest city to Spain’s third-largest city.”
Ryanair have already launched a route from Dublin to Valencia earlier this year, and Eva Fernández International PR Manager at Visit Valencia said“this second direct service to Valencia from Ireland gives Irish holidaymakers even more opportunity to discover our beautiful city and everything we have to offer as a holiday destination”.
