Less Videos, More Text-Only Information

Before YouTube existed, people still used search engines to find out solutions to common questions; such as video game walkthroughs and cheats, programming, cooking recipes and other how-to’s. And yes, Search Engine Optimization (SEO) was important back then too. But the point here is that the content itself wasn’t in video format. All material was basically text-only, maybe combined with a few pictures.

Video may be better than text in some cases. However, most of the time, video isn’t necessary in order to bring up the main point (which is the reason people use these services). Too often it’s just a voice track and random video clips put together. It isn’t uncommon that website users have to rewind/fast-forward the video multiple times, because videos are filled with filler sentences, long introductions, ads and other irrelevant. The main point might take only about 20 seconds despite the video may be several minutes long.

All these “10 ways how to breathe” and “13 different ways to walk you didn’t know before” kind of videos could be summed up in a text format. And news, politics, economics, cooking, ICT... practically anything. We can use summaries. We don’t need 10 minutes of talk about a simple task. Have people forgot bullet points and their usefulness? That would save a lot of time.

Let’s imagine something. You search: “How to solve problem X”. Then the search engine comes up with summaries how to fix that particular problem, text-only of course. Nothing more. Only the answer summarized in 5 bullet points and that answer is delivered in the speed of light.

But wasn’t this exactly the way internet was supposed to be?

And THIS is the reason why Gemini is superior. Gemini is about the content. Facts and information with real value - delivered in the speed of light. Who wouldn't like that kind of service? Who would like to waste their time instead? That's what modern internet is about.
