## The System
## Log
- *2000-ish* Bought from $15 from a thrift store.
- *2011-ish* Chipped from 25Mhz to 33Mhz.
## Upgrades
[Chipped from 25Mhz to 33Mhz](http://homepage.mac.com/schrier/lciii.html) by
moving R14 to R74. The speedup was noticable.
After upgrade, stable but 68030 runs hot. If this concerns you, add a heat
sink. Height is an issue if there is a card in the PDS slot. Hard to fit more
than a 7mm tall heat sink. I added a 35x35x7 adhesive heat sink (part
#371824B00032G from [mouser.com](http://www.mouser.com)).
## Re-capping
5 10uF 16V
1 100uF 6.3V
5 47uF 16V
## Software
Running MacOS System 7.5.5.
## Documentation
## Networking
- Enable OpenTransport (open /Apple Extras/Network Software Selector, and then Use Open Transport Networking.)
- Use an a hub that can do 10Mb/s. My card, at least, is not 10/100, so you need an honest-to-dog 10Mb/s or 10/100Mb/s hub.
- To make troubleshooting easier, go to Apple menu : Control Panels : TCP/IP, then Edit : User Mode and select Advanced. This will give you an extra Options... button; in here, uncheck Load only when needed. This will cause your Mac to do a DHCP request immediately. Back on the main TCP/IP window, see if you then get an IP, see if you can ping it, etc.
- Configure netatalk on a Linux server, or enable sharing on an old PPC Mac.
