Uterine bearing folks have been using plants to manage their fertility & pregnancy outcomes for thousands of years. Preserving this knowledge of natural alternatives is a way to revolt against anyone who feels entitled to our bodies. Across the world, people are in need of ending a pregnancy & don’t have access to abortion due to unjust laws, familial/partner domination, religious doctrine & lack of financial/healthcare access thanks to systematic oppression. States & other countries, that imprison people for self-induced abortion, are an extension of the violent tyranny that burned midwives & herbalists during the witch trials, as well as the horrific rape of enslaved people to gestate more slaves for white people. It’s essential that we ferociously fight for our bodily autonomy in a world that considers our bodies as property.
Healthcare is a human right, and anybody wanting to terminate an unwanted pregnancy deserves access to whatever form of medical care they choose. However, abortion wasn’t invented in the 20th century, and in the face of patriarchal state repression, I encourage folks to share these resources, some of which I mirror here.
