I think this might be my favorite hombrew for the Game Boy. A puzzle platformer, The Bouncing Ball has you control a bouncing ball and your goal is to collect the heart on each level. Of course there are hazards and obstacles which make it not such a simple task. It is an excellent balance of simple but challenging gameplay, excellent level design and even has pretty good replayability as you can try to beat your overall time to complete the game.
