Excitement is building as the ever-popular Ocean to City - An Rás Mór is back with a bang, hosting over 500 local and international participants in the famous rowing and paddling race.
Cork Harbour will will play host to hundreds of Irish and international participants as they compete over four thrilling courses.
Participants are travelling from far and wide to take part in the races on Saturday the 4th, including the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and the United States.
A spectacular fleet of 200 boats will compete in these challenging races, featuring everything from traditional wooden boats, currachs, gigs, Chinese dragon boats, kayaks and even stand-up paddle boards.
On the day of the races, there will be family friendly entertainment at the vantage points along Cork Harbour.
At the finish line at Lapp’s Quay, enjoy the festivities with entertainment, music, food from 4pm onwards.
The Irish Coast Guard Operations Manager Micheál O’Toole has issued a statement, ensuring that everyone take care this weekend and enjoy the water safely.
"We want everybody to enjoy our waters but please pay attention to your own safety. Never ever swim alone and if you are using a boat or kayak, please ensure that if an emergency arises and you need assistance, that you are capable of contacting the Coast Guard with a marine VHF radio, PLB or EPIRB. Never rely on a mobile phone alone."
