Capsule Launch; How I Ended Up Here

Sunday evening I was strolling through the internet and I happen to find this thing called a Gemini Protocol. I don't remember where I started down this rabbit hole but I was both frustrated and excited.

Frustrated, because about three/four years ago I had a similar concept written up...

A return to original web fundamentals, a removal of the crap that the internet has become.
A simple syntax for page development, based around markdown.
Easy to render, could in theory, work on older machines, older operating systems with low resources. (Being a retro enthusiast I found this to be critical)

However, I was beaten to the punch and now this exists, which I'm glad. I'm glad that there are like minded people out there who are frustrated with the current state of the internet.

Gemini, however, is not perfect- I think it still needs some extended feature sets to be really good for basic content consumption in a lot of ways, but it's a start and I'm here for it (to the point where this is now my primary home).

I'm looking forward to contributing to this project, I have ideas on servers, frameworks, extended syntax support, and even a browser. This has to be the coolest thing I've seen on the internet in a long while.
