I'm an enormous fan of the language toki pona. I first stumbled onto it in 2017, and became obsessed with it for a few years. I learned it by heart, and while I may have become somewhat calmer about my fanaticism, toki pona has crept its way into almost every area of my life.
I use it to model some concepts when I teach clown theater. It turns up unintentionally in many of my creative projects. My chosen family gave into my linguistic silliness and learned it too, so it's not uncommon for someone to shout "moku!" excitedly when dinner is ready.
I'm currently trying to learn an alternative hieroglyphic writing system called "sitelen sitelen", which was created by Jonathan Gabel. It's above and beyond my skills as an illustrator, but I am enjoying it immensely. I particularly like the way the syllable glyphs combine to make adorable little cartoon creatures.
