Welcome to the english section of my gemini capsule!
You'll mostly find tech and coding related stuff here.
Hier entlang zur deutschsprachigen Sektion.
I'm running a Gitea instance for my own use for a while now, but i may eventually get rid of it. It seems a bit overengineered for simply hosting a few git repos. I barely have use for any of the "advanced" features. My code is (besides here on gemini) now also available for viewing on a static site (powered by 'stagit').

I tagged cgmnlm 1.4 today, the most notable additions are:
I'm running geminispace.info now for more than a year, most time it was the only search provider for gemini. I'm very happy that we have at least one other search provider with tlgs.one.
tlgs.one search provider for gemini
I'm currently not sure how long i can keep geminispace.info up in the future. It mostly works quite well, but sometimes the maintenance is a burden.
On a side note i finally sold my Raspi 8G - getting more bucks for it than i initially paid for it. Although it was nice to tinker with it, it never served any purpose than tinkering and that is not what i expect from such a gem. I don't like having stuff laying around simply for having it, it should have a use case (such as my other RPis).

Perl maybe considered oldschool by many, but it is still very good in text processing - which is the very core of gemini. Therefore it is obvious to use perl for cgi with gemini.

I started my "computer career" in the late 1980s, when i wrote BASIC programs on one of these:
I've since been a tech addict interested in coding and admin stuff. I embrace the KISS principle, i guess that's why i'm so excited about gemini.
After 15 years of working as a software engineer, i'm now more into backend stuff. Honestly i have never been that good in creating a new piece of software from scratch, but i'm pretty good at picking some random stuff and improve it. Thats why whenever there was a piece of "legacy software" that needed to be maintaned it got on my desk.
I run a few public sites on the "ordinary web":
fotowolke.net - german photography community
clttr.info - my private shortlink service
scl.clttr.info - my Friendica instance, part of the fediverse
Besides "tech" my spare time is mostly dedicated to my wife and our dogs, motorcycling and photography. Sometimes even some casual gaming.
