I am excited about the Gemini protocol, because I think it has the potential to combine two things I enjoy. I like the idea of Gopher, but as I understand it, there is not a way to make character coding unambiguous. I enjoy languages, and the two languages that I'm most interested in are Japaense and Cantonese. With Gemini I believe there is a better foundation for creating and consuming content in 日本語 and 廣東話. So that's a good enough reason for me to jump on board. 🎉
