it's interesting. people talk about how "the 60s did not happen to
them". that's certainly true of my family, with its fairly weird and
ancient form of catholicism. i had to learn about the social
revolution of the 60s at the age of 17 out of books in high school.
the post-60s society, which is probably dominant, is still an
interesting thing that i consider a little alien to myself. not to say
i am a bigot, for i am an anarchist, so, really, these values are
eternal.
but i just realised, "2020 is not happening to me"--not to say that i
have stayed in regressive 90s-era anti-neoliberal revolutionism--but
that the "official narrative" of trump and the coronavirus doesn't
apply to me.
and i think this is true for most people, we are actually having to do
things ourselves now, and we really rather enjoy it. the government
has become somewhat irrelevant now that we have started developing
relationships of mutual aid.
