This gemlog refers to Stutter, my browser add-on for speed reading using RSVP (Rapid Serial Visual Presentation). You can find it on github and browser add-on stores.
Stutter Github Page (with browser add-on links)
A Stutter user recently filed an issue that the default key-bindings weren't working for them. This is something that's popped up here and there depending on platform and browser choice. Some have suggested using unmodified keys, like "HJKL" for skipping forward/backward or speeding up or down. I've avoided doing this because I don't want to step on the toes of common key-bindings already in use on the page or by the browser itself. As a result, almost all of the default bindings are Alt prefixed.
Obviously that's not a perfect solution and some people will need something else. I could either fix the bindings and find something that worked everywhere, or…
I've made the key-bindings user-selectable. In Stutter's options panel (at the bottom) you can now set the keys you prefer to use. These settings will sync with browser-sync if you have that enabled. Hopefully that will solve that person's problem and give everyone what they desire.
