Sodium bicarbonate, baking soda or other alkalines will dissolve some stuff. Vinegar, lemon or other acids will dissolve other stuff. Contrary to many online recipes they shouldn’t be mixed; they just mate and become neutral. One can however use one to clean the other; first sprinkle bicarbonate on a surface, leave it for a while, then spray with vinegar solution and scrub. This cleans most things.
Thick bicarbonate paste works well as oven cleaner.
Several plants have shown antisseptic properties: lavender, tea tree, rosemary, thyme, garlic, lemon, cloves and cinnamon are some. I found no clear data on which works better; ‘better’ might not be a thing, probably they work differently on different pathogens. These edible ingredients may be added concentrated to cleaners, or to recipes to extend shelf-life. Cinnamon is an effective fungicide for plants. Essential oils are probably stronger than other vehicles for cleaning; one has to remember to shake the bottle well before use, to emulsify.
1. Hand-crush berries on a strainer so as to not damage the seeds.
2. Reserve seeds/larger solids mush to spread later elsewhere.
3. Boil juice until it reduces significantly.
4. Add 1tbsp vinegar (will make it pink), salt, and 1 ground clover as preservatives.
5. Store in disinfected, airtight container in a dark shelf.
6. When making cleaning products, add a dash of it for colour.
Ideas: can you fully evaporate it into a solid dye, grind to powder? Will that keep longer?
