I was up until 5 this morning hunting down what turned out to be a typo in some game engine code of mine. Normally I'm somewhat decent at taking breaks when things get out of hand like that, but I felt really in-the-weeds and was afraid that I'd lose my progress if I stopped before I solved the issue. Silly brain, that's what notes are for.
So this morning I'm looking into solutions for digital note-taking so that I can avoid running into issues like this again. So far I've decided I want to check out ObsidianMD and GitJournal. I'm leaning toward GitJournal for the sake of simplicity and self-hosting. If anyone can recommend any other digital note management solutions, I would appreciate it. Preferably something that supports Android.

You could check out zettlr as a non-proprietary alternative to obsidian. it doesnt have a dedicated android app, afaik - but its plain markdown, so you I use markor and sync it via a nextcloud
