awe, i wanted to lighten up the mood in my gemlog and this time with an gemini eXCLUSIVE blog post >:3 >:# >:oooo
buy a used cybiko for parts (look it up on ebay, so cool looking, i miss clear plastic purples and neons), then somehow mod it with a pi and nice lcd screen. then live out my cyber nostalgic post-y2k dreams. the concept was so fascinating, but a shame it died out. the way it created a p2p network!! i wonder what that wouldve been like as a kid.
been thinking about smol internets like that, and apparently there is a mesh network in my city. i'm not able to participate in it rn, but would like to eventually. gemini is also a smol internet, and with lagrange's latest update i like browsing it even more haha. its cozy how a p2p network feels, like retroshare. it was so nice (when ur friends are active lol).
i've been thinking about the smol internet in my webcomic, too. since it is a re-imagining of my childhood town with an alternate post-hurricane reality, ive been thinking about the concept of making a smol localized internet of a neighborhood rebuilding itself. then i imagine they could make cute a$ devices like cybikos, because, i like the design. xP

p.s. i created a smol social network on the www, on a new site project called angel-town. i liked town-themed sites and wanted to do some cool community things with it, like a pixel clique! kinda like the quilting bee of the ye old web, but my own fb clone is fun too haha. anywho, i was trying out different software on softaculous and am currently using oxwall. it's a really nifty open source social network, and i am pleased with the customization abilities!! i haven't fully finished customizing it but its way more enjoyable than typical social media already, LOL. finally i can have full control over the aesthetic!! this is very important to meee >:3
