I just took a walk around the yard.
Things are starting to sprout in the
garden -- radishes, whatever we
planted next to the radishes, and the
green beans. We didn't use up all the
seeds, so we didn't staple the
envelopes to the sticks at the end of
the rows. Now I don't remember what
was planted in several rows.

On the other hand, the rows are all
straight and orderly this year. No
drunk gardening. Sadly.

There was a nice morning almost two
weeks ago, so we went out and did the
planting. We also planted potatoes in
a former flower bed behind the house
and tomatoes in with some flowers
along the side of the house. We still
have a big flower bed in front and a
shade garden on the north side. It's
an old house that's positioned in the
center of the lot, the way they used
to do things in British Columbia
before the big-box houses with six
feet between them.

I also ventured out into the great
covid-o-sphere and got a truckload of
soil to fix the lawn where we replaced
the water main last year. Fortunately,
it started to rain shortly after that
work was done, and the new grass is
doing quite nicely.

Did sxmo for the Pinephone ever come
out of left field! It was completely
unexpected.

It's a PostmarketOS (Alpine Linux)
based distribution that is using
suckless tools, scripts, and some new
C programs to create a great "desktop
environment." I've been having a great
time setting it up how I like it --
and everything is infinitely
customizable.

The original programmer[1] set up the
interface to use the volume and power
buttons, but I've been shifting
everything over to gestures -- and
resizing the elements so that they're
a little more touch friendly. My next
adventure will be to customize the
keyboard. If you read through the
thread linked below, you'll see that
another user already did it and gave
me some advice. It's so cool to have a
Linux phone that is so definitely a
Linux system first.

As an added bonus, the OS comes
pre-installed with a gopher browser,
and the phlogosphere shows up in the
videos. Too funny! You can read more
about those adventures at:
