28 Apr

The Cork Simon Community, a well-established charity which works with people who experience homelessness has released a clip of some of their service users taking part in a masonry class, as "sometimes the simplest of activities can have an amazing impact.'

Cork Simon has been on the go for fifty years, they work to help individuals avoid homelessness, those who are currently homeless, and those who are recovering from their experience of homelessness and need support in their lives.

The charity aims to go beyond helping people find housing, but also "to help them find purpose."

A spokesperson for the charity said: "The guys seen in this video are working on pieces that are incredibly personal to them and their individual journeys."

"Many people, especially those who are long-term homeless, have suffered deep social exclusion and often wish for help in addressing a variety of needs," they added.

This masonry project is just one of many that Cork Simon carry out to help people who are looking for a way forward in their lives, and a community of support to help them.

The charity also helps people in dire situations who need emergency accommodation to get off the streets short term.
