poems written on the bus

murmuring lips

a charcoal brush stroke

a tangerine sea

an ominous spiral

from amber into ink

i have found peace

not in a sea of flesh and blood

but in gazing eyes and murmuring lips

a hand on my head

and fingers intertwined

the peace i had thought

that i would never find...

the peace i had figured

was never there at all.

a torch in the water

a torch in the water

it burned with a passion

but the fire became bitter

and i became afraid

so i threw away the years

the effort of my craft

and oh, the tears i shed

when i watched my life sink

to the sweet, deep black,

the sweet, sweet black.

stars among men

the bleeding mouths

all mutter of time

and space among the gods

whose ears have long since been

lost to the sea of stars among men

summertime tide

staring at the wrinkles on my hands

gazing at the ocean in your eyes

standing on the ancient western sand

waiting and watching the summertime tide

the sky bled like syrup

the sea bled like ink

an explosion of clouds

and a system of stars

all sank

to the depth

underneath

a little boy

i was a little boy

gazing at the pits

of paradise and hell

and every inbetween

to figure out why

we all had to die

and how on earth

we're going to survive

i'll be forever sorry

for the man i have become

if i'm even worth the title

or if it's make-believe

eccentricities

eccentritities

people say "that's an illness"

it's driving me mad.
