15 Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.
16 But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.
17 And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican.
18 Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
19 Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.
20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them
I've long taken verse 20 to be Jesus' own definition of a church. And if you (Jew or Gentile) keep the commandments he is said to endorse in Mark 10:19, I consider we are gathered together in his name whether he existed or not. Let all other scripture be false, I still hold the Mark 10:19 commandments to be true.
From the entry on Sherwin Wine I transcribed yesterday: "choose an alternative you believe in - atheists shouldn't choose a theist group." A corollary I presume is "theists shouldn't choose an atheist group". I am of the group "I want to be liked." and "I believe in the Mark 10:19 commandments, whether man made or God made." That feels like a pretty small group. I don't remember the exact wording, but I do remember James Lindsey recently holding that "wanting to be liked" is a particularly exploitable vulnerability (to Wokeness in the current context). In general I feel excommunicated from Christianity for not believing "Jesus is the Messiah." and from Judaism in part for not disbelieving "Jesus is the Messiah."
Jerry Falwell Jr got "booted off the island" yesterday after posting pictures of himself with one hand around a young woman not his wife, zippers down, and a "fake" drink in the other hand aboard his yacht. The powers above him, Liberty University's board of trustees, put him on a leave of absence "effective immediately". That is the exact same wording announcing a friend's surprise exit from a company I spent 12 years of my life with. I sense but do not know that my friend's excommunication was for the same class of offense.
Population of my county: 16000
Running average of reported new infections per day: 45
Average number of days an infected person is at large: 3
Probability an at large person is infected: 3*45/16000 * 100 = approx. 1%
Probability a person in a 12 person meeting is infected: 12% ?
