I.e., each device on the IPv6-enabled Internet can have a unique address without having to rely on NAT. Which, on the one hand, means addressing devices behind routers becomes easier, but on the other also means each individual device's requests are easier to track (so privacy becomes harder). It also makes having an actual firewall configured more important, since NAT can no longer be used as a sort of pseudo-firewall by consumers.
