A telescopic view off the starboard quarter (probably). In the foreground is Rongeværskallen (N60d50m55s, E4d45m14s), a rock to the north of Rongevær. In the background are the oil refinery complexes of Mongstad (N60d48m24s, E5d01m51s). Its two towering chimneys(?) are even shown on the nautical chart.
The on-screen map shows it's 22:45, but the sky is still bright as day. (That day was 16 June 2011.)
A lighthouse is flashing red, twice in close succession. It also seems to have a solar panel in front of it. This is the Røytingkalven Lighthouse (N60d51m21s, E4d46m46s). It is on the southern tip of the Røytingkalven island.

Photo of this lighthouse taken from west, showing a green filter.
View toward Fiskholmen island (N60d54m15s, E4d46m21s), see next highlight for details
This cute little becaon on Fiskholmen island (N60d54m15s, E4d46m21s) fires a rapid group of 9 flashes.
The ship enters the strait (N60d52m20s, E4d46m34s) between Ryvlenappane and Røytingkalven. The Røytingkalven lighthouse can be seen towards the starboard side.
Fiskholmen once again.
This stone structure is probably at the northwestern tip of Røytingkalven island. Is this an ancient artefact?
It's almost 11 p.m. and the sun still ligers on the horizon. I was unable to identify the tall lighthouse in the distance (in the center of the screenshot). It flashes twice rapidly and has a period of longer than 6 seconds.
Seems to be the houses of Byrknes (N60d53m48s, E4d50m10s).
Byrknes once again. Can see people walking.
Sailing past Fiskholmen. View off starboard.
Ship spotted: KL "Saltfjord". It's an offshore supply ship.
View from the bridge.
The ship is sailing between Sogneoksen and two little rocks towards its west. the Sogneoksen lighthouse is captured in this scene. It flashes twice in a slow fashion.
Sogneoksen lighthouse again, with birds. As the ship advances, the light changes color from red to green, then to red again.
Ship spotted: "Holmfloss", a reefer (refrigerated cargo ship) passing by the port side. 10 years later, on 17 June 2021, "Holmfloss" ran aground off Ålesund. Nobody was injured.
tweet reporting the said incident
Onscreen map showing it's 23:17 and we are halfway between Bergen and Florø. The sky is getting dark.
Now cruising at Sognesjøen (N60d59m11s, E4d46m09s) between Ytre Sula and Hille. This shot shows a ship entering the strait (N61d02m17s, E4d44m30s) between Brattholmen and Fengskjeret. The light on Brattholmen (on the left of the screen) appears yellow and occults once every 6 seconds. The light on Fengskjeret appears green and occults twice every 8 seconds.
nautical chart. A line is drawn between our position and the said strait.
Lights on Brattholmen and Fengskjeret once again. The structure on the background hills seem to be overhead electric transmission cables on Ytre sula.
As our ship also prepares to enter the said strait (N61d02m17s, E4d44m30s), the TV camera shows a close-up of the display at the controls.
Sailing past the light on Fengskjeret.
Sailing past the light on Brattholmen (when viewed from this angle it is red).
Looking back at the strait that we just sailed through. Apparently this area is called "Steinsundet", and it belongs to the municipality of Solund.
A narrator begins to talk about the Hurtigruten ship MS "Erling Jarl" which ran around at Sognesjøen on March 13, 1980.

Unable to identify this lighthouse in the distance. It occults 3 times every 10 seconds, but it can't be the one at Saltskoren because the color doesn't match. Can it be the one at Sandøy, Kinn? Maybe a bit too far away.
The lighthouse on Larsråholmen (N61d06m47s, E4d45m06s). The light is isophase (equal duration bright and dark) and has a period of 2 seconds.
To the far right of the screen, there is a tiny point of light. It is the lighthouse on Saltskoren (N61d11m35s, E4d47m56s) off the southeastern tip of Ospa. It occults 3 times every 10 seconds. From this angle it happens to be between the two little islands of Larsråholmen.
nautical chart. A line is drawn between the current position and the said lighthouse.
This is the shot that allows me to confirm that we are now sailing in the strait (N61d5m16s, E4d43m36s) between Storøyna and Daløyna, heading towards the lighthouse at Larsråholmen. On the left side of the screen, we see three groups of islands lining up: Oldra in the foreground, Ospa in the middle ground, and Værlandet, with the saddle-shaped Alden, in the background.
nautical chart. A line is drawn from the current position to Alden.
The ship is pointing itself towards the direction of Alden.
The tiny spec of light in front of the ship is the light "Olderkalven" (N61d07m28s, E4d44m30s). It is isophase and has a period of 4 seconds.
nautical chart. A line is drawn between the current position and said light.
Ship spotted: MV "Rana Frakt". Actually we first saw it while looking at the lighthouse on Larsråholmen.
this is when we first saw it, at 03:41:37.
Sailing in Lågøyfjorden, the telescopic lens captures a strangely shaped hill of Værlandet.
Ship spotted: MV "ECL Commander", in the background is the bridge Indre Melværsundbrua (N61d17m38s, E4d41m28s), between Melværet and Værlandet islands.
Start of day 2. On screen map shows the time is 00:15. The ship is now sailing in a northwesterly direction west of Ospa islands, heading towards Værlandet islands.
Telescopic lens scans through the street lights on the western group of Værlandet islands. Then the light at Hovden comes into view. It occults once every 6 seconds.

Ospøytåna Lighthouse (N61d13m19s, E4d43m14s) located near the northwestern tip of Ospa island. Flashes yellow, once every 5 seconds.
Ship spotted: "Braemar".
Heading display at the controls.
This is undoubtedly the Geita Lighthouse located on the Instegeita Island. It has 2 little houses near it. The light is isophase with a period of 4 seconds. The very steep slopes of Altøyna (N61d20m13s, E4d49m26s) can be seen in the middle ground.
Photo of Geita Lighthouse viewed from the other side.
The island of Værlandet once again.
The island of Alden with its characteristic saddle shape once again.
The red light on the left is "Austneset" (N61d17m08s, E4d46m21s) located at the southeastern tip of Værøyna island. It is isophase with a 2 second period. This light can also be seen at far right hand side in the cut immediately before this telescopic view. The yellow light on the right is "Austnesholmen" immediately off the shore. It is also isophase but has a period of 6 seconds.
The ship is entering Aldefjorden (N61d17m59s, E4d48m26s), the waters surrounded by Værlandet, Alden, Tvibyrge and Altøyna. The ship is sailing toward Tvibyrge. The tall dark silhouette to the left of the screen is Alden.
Telescope view of the east edge of Alden. In the background is Kinnaklova, the cliff of Kinn (N61d33m31s, E4d45m27s), 16NM from the current position.
Sailed past Alden. It's 0:46 a.m.
Sailing in Stavfjorden, mostly open waters. Mysterious black box pops up for seconds.
Still in the open waters of Stavfjorden. Starting to approach Florø. It's 01:15 a.m.
The ship has turned its direction and is now sailing towards the Trefotskjer Lighthouse (N61d29m01s, E4d59m36s). It occults twice every 8 seconds. In the screenshot the lighthouse appears as a tiny bright dot a the center-upper part of the screen.
Seems to be lights at Askrova (N61d30m20s, E4d57m03s)
Start of some historic footage, narration is in Norwegian and English.
The ship sails past what seems to be the light "Askrova" at the east tip of Askrova (N61d30m35s, E4d59m45s). Info about this light differs from chart to chart. Paper charts say it occults once every 6 seconds, which is in line with what is seen on screen, but the colors don't match up.
The ship sails past what seems to be the light at Oddane (aka Oddene) which gives off a quick flash every 3 seconds. On the screenshot the light appears as a single faint dot towards the right hand side.
Approaching Florø at 1:57 a.m.. The ship is sailing in a northwesterly direction towards the Nekkøyosen Lighthouse, which occults every 6 seconds. The yellow color can be seen only in a very narrow angle.
The ship has turned once again towards north and entered the strait (N61d39m59s, E4d47m10s) between Nordre Nekkøya and Færøya. Right ahead is the Stabben Lighthouse, as is captured by this shot. It occults 3 times every 10 seconds.
Take another look at Stabben Lighthouse as we cross the boundary between yellow and red.
The ship has turned again and is now sailing towards the Grasskerjet light. It occults twice every 8 seconds.
The ship has turned eastward, sailing into Florevika (N61d36m11s, E5d01m00s). Time is 02:17.
The ship is going to dock at Florø, in front of the "Hurtigruten Florø" building (N61d36m05s, E5d01m34s)
(END OF EPISODE)
I plotted the estimated course on a paper chart (sorry for the ugliness).
Rongeværskallen -> Røytingkalven
Sogneoksen -> Sognesjøen (between Ytre Sula and Hille)
