now listening: Oltremare - Ludovico Einaudi - Divenire
I got a Raspberry Pi 400 with an Adafruit cyberdeck hat and a hyperpixel display; it's sort of a cyberdeck. The text is very small, which isn't great, but it works as a serial console machine and for random other hacks.
The two things I wish I had for it:
The second is actually eminently doable if I get off my ass and layout the board in Eagle. The first... I have to figure out. My mechanical engineering skills are poor^wnonexistent. That's something I'd like to remedy in the sense that if I had infinite time, it would make sense.
Anyways, good enough for now. I often use it with a USB battery pack so it's portable. I wrote this gemlog on it, which means
Not bad at all.
The other hardware projects I need to get cracking on are the 8x8 NeoTrellis and the keyboard featherwing computer. For the latter, I need to build a carrier board and case so I can mount a battery and have a couple boards attached: an M4 express feather, LoRa featherwing, a WiFi board, and maybe some sensrs. It'd be cool to make a handheld tricorder thinger. Big dreams, small time available.
Oh, and I stayed up wayyyy too late last night trying to hack a tool together to sync my Nomad RSS feed to pnut.io. I have everything working except creating posts with images. What I have hacked together as of last night is in Python, but I think I'm going to switch to Go so I can use a client library to handle the pnut stuff rather than trying to figure out why I can't get the API calls working. It's kind of a fun problem, but not one that I want to spend a lot of time on. I've got a Pi Zero set up (behind my couch >.>) that I'm going to use to run small tasks like this on a regular basis. That has me thinking above reviving my efforts to build my own job scheduling / task running system.
Oh (again), I *also* have a Pi Zero with a Pimoroni enviro mini hat running that I need to start collecting data from (maybe to Prometheus? InfluxDB? Postgres? idk).
Looking forward to the two kayaking trips I'm taking this month; they're just daylong trips, but should be good nonetheless.
That's all for now, I guess.
