A fast forward shock was detected by ACE and DSCOVR in the solar wind parameters around 10:15 UT on March 13th. The solar wind speed jumped from 325 to 580 km/s and the interplanetary magnetic field jumped from 3nT to 21 nT. Meanwhile the solar wind speed has decreased to 435 km/s. The interplanetary magnetic field is currently above 21 nT. Bz has reached -14nT. The observed shock is due to the expected ICME arrival from the full halo coronal mass ejection, which was triggered by a long duration C2.8-class flare on March 10th and was first detected by LASCO C2 around 18:48 UT that day. The ICME is expected to impact the Earth throughout the day and tomorrow resulting in minor to moderate geomagnetic storms.
