Welp, here I am again, with another modernz presentation. Consisdering
that many of you dial overseas through the use of packet networks, I figured
it was about time you learned how to dial directly overseas. Especially since
in the NIA text philes they have previously given city codes for the Soviet
Union (well it was the Soviet Union at the time they wrote the article, I don't
know what I'm supposed to call it right now) all of which was outdated or
incorrect as according to AT&T, the only direct dialed parts of what was
previously the Soviet Union is most parts of Armenia and Moscow itself.
Hopefully there will be several chapters in the future on this
topic, including country codes/ city codes/ usa direct codes/ how to reach
different overseas countrys from a second country (for those roaming hackers
without a home country)/ and information on the packet networks used
overseas.
Of course it won't appear all in one file because:
1) I don't have all the info now.
2) I'm sick of reading those gigantic files.
3) It would be boring scanning through all of it for the info needed.
4) I'm lazy.

INTERNATIONAL DIRECT CALLS:
011 + country code + city code + telephone number
possible delay after dialing the number before it reaches the country.
busy immediately after dialing generally indicates busy circuits to the
country being calls.
note if a three second delay or more between the 0 and the 1 occurs, you
will reach the local operator.

OPERATOR ASSITED CALLS:
01 + country code + city code + telephone number
these calls include collect, bill to third, calling card, time and charges,
and person-to-person calls.
Note that collect and calling card charges to the country being calls may be
restricted.

Should you need to find a number overseas.
Overseas directory assistance is currently only provided by AT&T, which can
be reached by dialing 10ATT (thats 10288 on the phone)
Before December 22, 1991 there was no charge for this service...
Now the charge is $1.50 per number given.
This rate is subject to change. AT&T is attempting to make it a $3.00 charge
per number given, but the FCC is currently fighting it.
