Welcome to The Stack. This place was orinally created to provide a place to dump files that would otherwise clog up my main gemlog The Black(wood) Box.
Let's say hypothetically I wanted to put a script I had written into a post on the main gemlog. I could link to a site like GitHub, reproduce the code in full, or create a post with just that code, but all of these options are bad for different reasons. Linking to Github is a waste of time unless I want to link to more then one file, dumping the whole script into the post will just clog it up, and posting it on my main blog interrupts the flow of complete posts with a file that isn't necessarily intended to be read out of context.
So, the solution I've come up with is to put it here. That keeps all my things within Gemini Space and prevents the main blog from getting cluttered.
I was going to call this "The Pile" but gemlog.blue is set up much more like a Stack lol.
I realized after I set this up that there is a whole bunch of shorter bits of writing I want to get online that isn't really a discrete "post" and that this place is a great place to put it. Ironically I might end up posting more here then on the main blog but I guess we'll have to see.
