Anyone using a Gemini client on iOS they'd recommend? Ideally looking for something easy without having to compile myself.

@skyjake While I'm on the subject, do you have longer-term plans to have an App Store release for iOS? Might be a nice way to support development. I'd happily pay premium for it.

i find Elaho works well in iOS · 2 months ago

Elaho resembles Deedum and Ariane, however I still prefer Lagrange which, I recall for all, is still in a early stage. · 2 months ago

The plan for the Lagrange iOS TestFlight is to eventually make it to the App Store. I haven't decided if there'll be a paid version of the app; it could depend on whether there are significant operating costs.

@acidus Indeed, going fully native has its benefits. Lagrange for iOS isn't done yet, though: for example, the system font will be the default at some point and like on macOS, I'm planning to use native menus. So while the app will retain its distinctive style, it should be better integrated with the conventional iOS UI. · 2 months ago

Elaho is amazing. native UI, dark mode, tabs, bookmarks, client certs. But the best thing of all is that it just gets out of your way. it’s a seamless frame that presenting awesome Gemini content.

I’m tremendously impressed by@skyjake’s work but Lagrange is… the opposite of that. it has a distinct style that is always present while reading gemini content that I personally find distracting: the way it indents and aligns different line types, the font and inline symbol choices, the non-native UI for menus and dialogs, etc. Personally I feel frames shouldn’t distract from the art (e.g. Gemini content) they surround. · 2 months ago

I use Elaho. I honestly think it’s the best Gemini browser on any platform! · 2 months ago
