2022/0303/1600 —

Out for a slow and gentle afternoon ride this afternoon after some strenuous fridge-relocating work last night, everything seems to be sore today, especially the finger I pinched between fridge and car

Down south to Karkarook lake and around the old bush block on the gravel tracks, riding along under the remnant gum trees and enjoying all the small bird life that you see as you head up the western side of the block to join Karkarook lake. Only a suburb or so south of home, but some very different birds; I nearly always see large flocks of House sparrows[1], an introduced bird, but not present around home as they seem to have been driven away by the Mynas and Miners. There are always doves dust bathing too; pairs of Spotted dove[2] cooing to each other, and pairs or small groups Crested pigeons[3] pecking around at the edge of the paths.
