Re: Building Gameworlds in PuzzleScript

After reading the great Gemlog about PuzzleScript by [~lettuce], I spent many hours perusing Github looking for what development has been done on it, and of course also trying out several PuzzleScript games.

The reason I have been looking at "simple" game systems is that I want to find ones that are suited to or compatible with terminal and text-only applications. For a while now I have been searching for some kind of application that would make it possible to communicate with chat and voice combined with a 2D+ world in which the user can walk around using the arrow keys, performing simple actions using the CONTROL key and push-to-talk using ALT. Proximity-based chatting and talking would be possible to create an immersive terminal world experience.

Adding voice could be easy by using Mumble with its proximity feature. There is even a command-line version of a Mumble client called Barnard. And there is a HTML5 browser version of Mumble too, so there could be a browser and terminal-based solution which would attract more users (also non-technical ones, like your great grandmother).

What would make the virtual world more fun would be the possibility for a PuzzleScript-like language to be used to create enhancements to the virtual environment. To be most suited to the terminal, I would rather see the use of UTF-8 text characters and color instead of pixels (like what PuzzleScript currently uses).
