Leaving Florø port. Time is 02:52.
Turing north and heading towards the channel (N61d37m39s, E4d59m01s) between Søre NÌrøya and à rebrotsneset. The light at far right is "à rebrot" [Oc 6s].
View from inside the bridge. A heading of 356 degrees is displayed. (Heading is measured clockwise from north from 0 to 360 degrees.) It then goes to 359, and to 000, etc.
Sailing towards the light at Seljestokken [Oc(2) 8s]. It lines up exactly with the bow in the screenshot.
Ship spotted: SC "Aberdeen", a ro-ro cargo (ro-on, ro-off cargo, a kind of ship designed designed to carry wheeled cargo).
Light towards far right, at the foot of the black silhouette of a high hill, is Sørbotnen [Oc 6s].
nautical chart. A line is drawn from estimated current position to said light.
Closeup of Sørbotnen lighthouse.
It's 03:18. Sky is lighting up again.
Archive footage starts to play.
The ship has turned to a northeasterly course to sail along the Frøysjøen (N61d45m13s, E4d58m30s).
Ship spotted: "Hedda".
Ship spotted: "Roaldnes".
Ship spotted: "Ro Fjord", a fish carrier.
03:48 a.m., still sailing along Frøysjøen.
The ship is currently sailing towards Marøyna (N61d50m29s, E5d17m6s). It will soon turn north again and enter the passage between Marøyna and Bremangerlandet.
Looking off the port bow, we see Hornelen, a steep 860-meter-tall hill at the eastern edge of Bremangerlandet.
The ship has sailed around Hornelen and is now going towards west into the narrow passage (N61d52m2s, E5d15m27s) between Bremangerlandet and Rugsundøyna.
The little village Klubben (N61d52m13s, E5d13m08s) on the northern coast of Bremangerlandet.
nautical chart. A line is drawn between our current estimated position to Klubben.
Sailing towards the light at Risøy [Oc 6s] located on Risøya island at the exit of the passage. See nautical chart of the previous highlight for reference.
The light off the shore of Klubben does not seem to be working. I wonder why.
I spent way too much time on this shot. At first I thought this was another Hurtigruten ship, but the scenery did not make any sense. After some utter confusion I finally realized that it was a camera in Müløy filming us! The cluster of houses (N61d55m09s, E5d07m32s) in the foreground is located at the east bank of the entrance to Müløy port. The hills and mountains in the middle and background are Hornelen and ice-capped mountains on the mainland.
nautical chart. A line is drawn from the camera to us.
Sailing around the lighthouse at Risøy [Oc 6s] and turning to northeast, entering Djupsundet.
The houses along the eastern edge of Gangsøya island.
Camera in Müløy filming us again. We have emerged from behind (as viewed from the camera) Gangsøya and are now sailing in the waters north of it, in a northwesterly direction towards Müløy.
A preview of the Müløybura bridge, which we are going to sail under.
Müløy as seen from our ship.
Ship spotted: "HordafĂ´r", cannot identify the light behind it though.
Our ship goes under Müløybura bridge through its left (as viewed from our ship in its direction of motion) opening.
Preparing to dock in front of "Bring Logistics AS" building (N61d56m21s, E5d07m20s).
(END OF EPISODE)
I plotted the estimated course on a paper chart (sorry for the ugliness).
