A Few Days of Silence

Silence this time means busy. Busy as in half busy-work and half getting things done. Overall, good busy with a bit of frustration on the edges.

Sometimes we don't know that we're carrying around an old heavy anvil. Then one day you put it down. Enlightenment. This time it was a car. But the car was a bit of self-image baggage. It was a chain to a long-standing error in the way I think about myself.

And that opened up insight into how strongly I cling to those ancient views that are simply only bad for me. Ramifications include hanging on to relationships that are still there because they've tagged along with the anvil. Also watching others carry their anvils.

It will all fade in a week or so as the epiphny fades into the wallpaper of mental history. But for the moment, today was a very UP day. The anvil is sitting in a parking lot over sixty miles away (96km).

Growth has turned out to be more about unlearning than learning. Learning, yes. But not in the bounds set by what must be unlearned.
