A meandering daily ride through the suburbs then home along the creek. Nothing much of note in the suburban roads and lanes and on the latter I was concentrating too much on the bumps and stones to pay any attention to what was around me. Coming back out of the wetlands and up the path alongside Gardiners creek a magpie[1] warbled at me, then a little later another one together with a pee-wee[2], both on the grass around the edge of a sports oval. I decided that the black and white ones were it. A little later a willy-wagtail[3] flew in loops around another magpie, and a Little raven[4] flew past down the creek. Rounding it out were some Pied currawongs[5] calling in the trees by the golf course, all black and white birds, all seen or heard today.
