Some small beasties from a morning spent poking around in the garden; first a call from the backyard to come and look at lovely large furry brown caterpillar, no idea what moth or butterfly, I took a photo and will upload it to inaturalist if I remember. About 6cm long, furry, rows of lighter spots on its back and seeming to be enjoying the sun on the fence down near ground level. Then out into the front garden for some weeding and I pulled up the largest fattest earthworm I've seen for years, very active too as it whipped and wriggled about trying to get off my hand while I tried to take a photo. Then digging out bits of the decomposing old birch stump near the fence and a disturbing number of termites — I'm hoping they prefer old birch stumps to housing timber and don't come foraging any closer
