Its definitely feeling like winter at the moment, cold and grey and often damp, or raining and wet. Most days if I ride along the Scotchmans Creek bike track I can hear the Pied currawongs[1] calling, but rarely see them, and they don't often seem to come up from the creek through the suburb to home. Today on a walk up through Galbally reserve from home I could hear them nearby and saw at least two pairs flying around in the trees. Their call is one that always reminds me of winters as a kid, calling through the fog or frosty winter air
