Feeling a bit motivated, although I'm unsure why. Sitting at home, working from home, gazing out the study window to rest my eyes. Its an overcast grey day and what little colour I can see comes only from the camellia flowers, the autumn leaves on the Japanese maple have all fallen away. Someone else knows about the camellia flowers today, first a Little wattlebird[1] comes swooping in and pokes around the bush at each flower and bud with its long hair tongue, then an hour or so later a Red wattlebird[2] comes past and does the same -- an even larger bird, barely able to balance on the spindly stems of the camellia.
I wasn't going to publish this until I'd filled in a few other days over the past week, but I have a bad habit of saying that and then not following through, leaving myself with a big gap of empty days and an unpublished draft. I know that there was an interesting praying mantis on Sunday, and I think I can remember the birds in the garden from last week... Oh well, here we are with today.
