I suspect I'm getting a little too slapdash with my daily updates and my promise to myself, but I'm still going although its a struggle.
A lunch time walk from my one day at work in the office today, missed the morning rain and went out around the side streets and across the oval at Carlson reserve. A flock of 20 or so Little ravens[1] were feeding spread out across the grass, two or three perched up on low branches nearby acting as lookouts... or were they? The ones up higher call out first when someone comes into view, but is it a choice to post a lookout, or just happenstance that those ones happen to be perched somewhere other than on the ground?
Then on the ride home along the creek a little aural wildlife; Sulphur-crested cockatoos[2] screeching, Rainbow lorikeets[3] shrieking at the approaching dusk, a solitary Grey butcherbird[4] calling and the chatter from the ubiquitous Noisy miners[5].
