2021/0328/1730 -- snake birds

A reaonable long afternoon ride; eastwards to the end of the Djerring trail, then down along the creekside trail all the way to the bay, creek gradually turning into Patterson river and getting wider and more "coastal". Always lots of water birds down along the last stretch, cormorants, ducks, the odd pelican and swan. Today it was the Snake birds[1], first one, then a pair, then more... and more. I think I'd counted over a dozen by the time I got to the bay, nearly all of them perched in the classic pose on a tree stump or branch over the water, wings half open and drying themselves.
