It sneaks up so fast, what you'd like to make a daily habit gets a day behind... then two... then three. Here I am on the 22nd filling in for the 21st and 20th
An interesting entry for the "Garden birds" category; there I was standing in the back yard when I looked up as Black cormorant[1] flew over, up at a decent height and presumably going from one creek or wetlands to another. Had me thinking of all the other birds that I've "seen" from the garden but only up above or off in the distance, from memory: Pelicans, White ibis, indistinguishable to me raptors, and a pair of Wood ducks sitting on the neighbour's chimney.
