I've got a pound of powdered potassium gluconate. That PMS protocol said 600mg a day. Now I have enough doses for 120 days at 15 cents a day. Excellent.
Doing okay - after the big headache, feeling basically fine. Haven't boosted my thiamine intake because I don't want things to go haywire. Spouse is on holiday which means our schedule is all messed up and we've been eating bad food. So I feel moderately cruddy right now, but I'm just now getting my normal morning cup of coffee at 11am and I don't think the extra carbs from "party food" do me any favors whatsoever. It seems so nice before you eat it. Carbs just make me tired and anxious.
I adore spouse but when he goes on holiday my life gets bombed. And then I feel cruddy and can't enjoy things properly.
We went to the big city a couple days in a row and walked around a lot in the heat. Why does going to the zoo always sound like a fun idea until you get there, and realize you want to laser 25% of your fellow zoo goers off the planet? People who yell at zoo animals or bang on their enclosures are straight trash. It was true when I was a kid, it's true as an adult. I don't care if they are 6 or 66 - there is something wrong if you have to be explicitly told not to abuse a creature for your entertainment. I don't know why some people seem decent until they get to the zoo and suddenly feel entitled to harass an animal any way they can. But I didn't like those people as a kid and I definitely don't like them as an adult. Yes, most of the animals will be missing/napping. If I were an animal in a zoo, I'd hide from those assholes too!
Seriously, the zoo is the worst form of museum. I would not shed a tear if zoos stopped being a thing. Seems like a antique holdover from colonial times anyway.
Me going to the zoo: "Yay, the zoo!" Me leaving the zoo: "What the fuck is wrong with homo sapiens sapiens?"
(That said, the sea life center in Seward is pretty neat. I think they are a lot more interested in the animal's well being than the visitor's experience, and that makes a difference. A lot of the animals there are in rehabilitation and can't be released into the wild.)
We're supposed to leave for a road trip today. I just wanted to go to a beach, but spouse wants to make a grand excursion of it. So who knows where we'll end up.
