A blogger who I subscribe to (actually 'the blogger' - I don't normally do such things), Ivan Hellion, Man Against Marketing, has done a couple of English translations of Russian works. He says:
I've started a new, purely sporadical thing, translating classical Russian stories. I only pick obscure short pieces (up to 2000-3000 words) if they are rather hard to find in English or I'm not satisfied with the translation.
I'm not really well read, but I seem to enjoy older works (~1850 - 1940), and the two short stories he has done so far are by Anton Chekhov. It feels like a little gift to have these translations, so I thought I'd share them here.

I recently finished Dostoevsky's Crime and Punishment, thanks to a post I read on Gemini (I forget who), and I'm now reading The Idiot. Even just the insights into the era are fascinating, and the culture of the time seems to me surprisingly relatable.
I really should have read more literature!
I'm not quite sure what to make of this persona. His writing appears to be genuine and original, yet his site contains writing on marketing topics which only shows up in my mobile browser, not on desktop, and isn't tagged anywhere. Very SEO'ish, and a little bit sus! I may be missing something.
I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt, he makes no secret his background is in data analytics in the mobile games industry, and he has previously written about his disdain regarding this industry. I'm in no position to judge, since I have also worked in mobile gambling and advertising, and I didn't even bother to whine about it directly (I really quite enjoyed that job, though it was pre-iPhone and all the crap that followed).
I'm only suspicious because the world has made me that way!
